A brief background and history of Valhalla Construction LLC.

Jeremiah Glenwinkel is the owner of Valhalla Construction LLC.

his father was a General Building Contractor, a licensed Electrician, and a Licensed Plumber. Being home schooled, Jeremy worked as an apprentice for his father most of his school years until 1995 when he joined the United States Marine Corps. After serving a year overseas stationed in Okinawa, he returned to Camp Pendleton where he was stationed for nearly 3 years and continued to work in the family business during his free time away from the Corps.

In 1998 his father was diagnosed with mesothelioma, a lung cancer caused from exposure to asbestos. So at the end of his service contract in 1999, Jeremy left the Marine Corps and took over the family construction business. During this transition period, the company was in the middle of building a custom home. Unfortunately his father passed away before the home was completed; Jeremy took over and finished the home.

Due to the illness and being tied up with the custom home project, his father had stopped taking calls and pursuing leads, resulting in the business being essentially dead in terms of leads. Within two years Jeremy grew business revenues to over half a million in annual sales working primarily solo. He continued this trend until the economy began to collapse around 2006. Seeing the direction that California was taking, he closed the company and moved to North Idaho.

While establishing his business in North Idaho, he worked for a number of other construction companies, expanding his experience and knowledge to include civil, heavy highway, and bridge construction; industrial construction including waste water treatment plants; and commercial and structural concrete construction including a five story concrete structure for Washington State University in Spokane Wa.

In 2012 Jeremy completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on project management.
He is a member of Sigma Alpha Pi, the largest collegiate honor society in the US.
In 2012 he joined the Idaho National Guard as an Logistics officer, graduating top of his class from Army Logistics University in Ft. Lee VA.
In 2013, Jeremy started Valhalla Construction LLC and has been steadily growing ever since.
In 2020 Valhalla Construction became an officially registered and verified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOB)

Jeremy has been working professionally in the construction industry for over 25 years and has been a general building contractor for over 12 years. Throughout his career Jeremy has encountered and dealt with just about every construction problem and scenario that may be encountered in the residential construction arena, and has quite a lot of experience in the commercial, industrial, and bridge construction arenas.

At one time Jeremy was an authorized dealer for Rockford Steel Buildings, and sold and erected pre-engineered steel buildings, including enclosed riding arenas, agriculture buildings, shops, and barns.

Jeremy has extensive experience in hardscape, tile, masonry, outdoor kitchen and patios, kitchen and bath remodels, whole house renovations, additions.

Valhalla Construction is focused on the design-build market for custom homes, and specializing in integrated security products such as vaults, panic rooms, and bunkers.

After starting Valhalla Construction, the focus was on incorporating the design phase into the business as a way to eliminate dealing with architects, draftsmen, and third party designers. This approach greatly simplified the process of working with the client and understanding their needs, ideas, and goals.

It also simplified the bidding and estimating process since Valhalla Construction was already intimately familiar with the project, design, components and features, and the desires and requirements of the customer. This approach mitigates the confusion and miscommunication that often exists between customer, contractor, and architect/draftsman. Additionally, it streamlines the process as the customer only has to deal with one person instead of trying to coordinate between multiple people.

Valhalla Construction is focusing on integrated security and moving toward specialized construction services for custom designed vaults, panic rooms, and bunker construction. This includes hardening existing structures such as your home or a bedroom, basement conversions, property analysis, threat assessments, and area denial strategies for homeowners concerned about safety and protecting loved ones and valuable property.
